Glasses price in Nepal 2026: what a full pair really costs
A complete pair at Blurkart starts around NPR 1,750: a NPR 999 frame plus single vision lenses with a basic blue coat at NPR 750. A mid-range pair with a NPR 1,500 frame and multi-coated lenses is about NPR 3,300. Progressive lenses add NPR 1,900 to NPR 5,500 depending on the corridor width.
People walk into our Lalitpur showroom asking for the glasses price in Nepal as if it were one number. There is no one number. A pair of glasses is three purchases stacked together: the frame, the lens, and whatever coating sits on the lens. Once you see it that way, the price stops being a mystery and starts being a choice.
Here are our 2026 prices, in NPR, with nothing hidden.
The frame: NPR 999 to about NPR 7,000
The frame is the part everyone shops for and the part that matters least to your vision. Our entry point is the Premium Round Metal Optical Frame at NPR 999. It is a plain, light, metal round with adjustable nose pads, which is exactly what a first pair or a spare pair should be.
Most people land between NPR 1,200 and NPR 1,800. The Premium Rectangle Prescription Frame at NPR 1,500 is the one we sell the most of: acetate front, spring hinges, fits a wide range of faces. Above NPR 2,500 you are paying for heavier acetate, better hinges and a name on the temple. That is fine if you want it. It does not make you see better.
The lens: where the real money goes
Lenses are priced by what they have to do.
Single vision
One power across the whole lens. This covers most people under 40. At Blurkart the single vision options are:
- Blue coat, single coated: NPR 750. A basic anti-glare layer with a mild blue filter. Good enough for a spare pair.
- Multi-coated blue coat, double coated: NPR 1,800. Anti-reflective on both sides, harder surface, less of the green sheen on video calls. This is the one we recommend for daily wear.
- Blue filter, fully digital lens: NPR 2,990. The filter is in the material rather than the coating, and the lens is surfaced digitally, so edges are thinner on stronger powers.

Progressive
After 40, most people need one lens that handles distance, the laptop and the phone. That is a progressive, and it costs more because there is more grinding in it. Our three tiers:

- Student spare pair: NPR 999 frame + NPR 750 blue coat single vision = NPR 1,749.
- Office daily pair: NPR 1,500 rectangle frame + NPR 1,800 multi-coated lens = NPR 3,300.
- Progressive for a parent: NPR 1,800 wooden-finish frame + NPR 3,400 wide corridor progressive = NPR 5,200.

What changes the bill
Strong prescriptions push the price up because thin (high index) lenses cost more to make. Above minus 4 we will suggest a thinner lens, and we will tell you the price before we cut anything.
Sale frames pull it down. We run frame discounts most of the year, and the sale price is what you pay for the frame; the lens price does not change.
The coating is where the lens price really moves, and we made the case for it separately in is an anti-reflective coating worth the extra NPR.
Lens-only replacement is the quiet money saver. If your frame is still straight and the hinges are tight, we can fit new lenses into it and you skip the frame cost entirely.
What we would spend
If you wear glasses all day, put the money in the lens, not the frame. A NPR 1,500 frame with the NPR 1,800 multi-coated lens will serve you better than a NPR 5,000 frame with the NPR 750 coating. The frame is what people see. The lens is what you see through.
Chasma price in Nepal: what customers ask us most
Most people who message us on WhatsApp ask the same three things, usually in a mix of Nepali and English, so here they are in the same words.
"Chasma ko price kati ho?" The honest answer is NPR 1,749 for the cheapest complete pair and about NPR 3,300 for the pair most people end up with. Anything above NPR 6,000 is either a progressive lens or a premium frame, and we will tell you which part of the bill it is.
"Power chasma ra normal chasma ko price same ho?" A frame with plain zero-power lenses costs the frame price plus NPR 750 for the lens. A frame with your prescription costs exactly the same for a standard power. Strong powers above minus 4 cost more because the lens has to be thinner.
"Sunglass ma power halna milchha?" Yes. Tinted prescription lenses start at the same lens prices with a tint added, and photochromic lenses that darken outdoors are an option too.
