What the free eye test covers
An optician checks how sharply you see at distance and up close, then finds the lens power that corrects it. If you need glasses you leave with your prescription, and we measure your pupillary distance (PD), which the lens maker needs and many prescriptions leave out. The whole thing takes about ten minutes.
It is a test for glasses and contact lenses, not a medical examination of the eye. If you have eye pain, flashes of light, or your vision has changed suddenly, please go to an eye hospital instead.
Before you come
- Bring your current glasses and any previous prescription, if you have them.
- Walk in Sunday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm, or book a slot above.
- If you book, arrive five minutes before your slot.
After the test
There is no obligation to buy. If you do want glasses, choose from our frames fitted with your power, with single vision lenses from NPR 750 and progressive lenses from NPR 1,900. The full list is on the lens prices page. Our opticians fit the lenses in-house, and we adjust the finished pair to your face free.

Frequently asked
- Is the eye test at Blurkart really free?
- Yes. The test is free at both showrooms and there is no obligation to buy anything afterwards.
- Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
- Either works. Walk in Sunday to Friday between 9 am and 7 pm, or book a slot on this page and we will confirm it by phone.
- How long does the eye test take?
- About ten minutes. If you book a slot, please arrive five minutes early.
- What should I bring?
- Your current glasses and any previous prescription, if you have them. They show us what you are used to and how your power has changed.
- What if I have eye pain or sudden changes in my vision?
- The test here measures your power for glasses and contact lenses. For symptoms such as sudden vision loss, eye pain or flashes of light, go to an eye hospital. We refer people on rather than treating them.
