Why Blurkart? A Clear Vision from a Blurry Past

People ask why Blurkart exists when Nepal already had optical shops. As a young boy, I struggled to see clearly.
The whiteboard was blurry, faces were hazy, and I often felt left behind in class.
But I didn’t complain, I thought it was normal.

Then one day, during a free eye camp, I received my first pair of glasses.
And everything changed.

The moment I saw the world clearly for the first time, I knew.
This is what I want to do with my life.

That very day, I decided to become an eye doctor.
I gained not just clear vision, but also a clear purpose.

The respect I had for that optometrist, who changed my world in a moment, planted a seed in my heart.
I wanted to give the same gift to others:
The gift of clarity, confidence, and dignity.

My Mission as an Optometrist

Today, I stand on the other side of that moment, as an optometrist, listening to stories like mine every day.
But not all of them have a happy ending.

Like the young man who came to me for a medical exam to go abroad full of hope to work in Qatar and earn for his struggling family.
During the exam, I found one eye wasn’t working properly a lazy eye.
His dream was shattered in that moment.
He didn’t even know he had a problem.

If only he had met an eye doctor sooner, this condition could’ve been treated early.
But now, the window had closed and so had his opportunity.
He left quietly, carrying both blurry vision and a blurred future.

That day, I realized something deeper:
We don’t just correct eyes we protect dreams.

Why Blurkart exists, in one paragraph

Buying eyewear in Nepal used to mean choosing between a small shelf in a local shop or waiting weeks for something ordered from abroad that might not fit. We wanted the full range available locally, fitted by an optician who is in the room, at prices written down rather than negotiated. That is the whole idea.

What that looks like day to day: frames from NPR 999, an eye test that is free and carries no obligation, lenses cut in-house, and adjustments that stay free for as long as you own the frame. Two showrooms, Pulchowk in Lalitpur and Boudha in Kathmandu, both with an optician on site.

What we will not claim

Two things we deliberately do not say, because plenty of shops do and it is not checkable. We do not claim to be an authorised dealer for any international brand. And we do not say delivery is free: it is NPR 90 inside Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, with cash on delivery available, and a courier charge elsewhere in Nepal.

What we will stand behind is the part we control. The eye test is free and carries no obligation. Lenses are cut and fitted in-house. Adjustments, nose pads and temple tips stay free for as long as you own the frame, including on frames bought somewhere else. Unworn frames can be returned within 7 days, and any frame can be exchanged before the lenses are cut.
