Cash on delivery for glasses: how it works

Plenty of people in Nepal will happily buy a shirt online and still not send money to a shop they have not visited. That is reasonable, and it is why cash on delivery for glasses exists. Here is how it works when the thing in the box is eyewear.

Cash on delivery for glasses in Nepal, step by step

You place the order on the site and choose cash on delivery at checkout. Nothing leaves your account. We confirm the order by phone or WhatsApp, usually the same day, because a wrong phone number is the single biggest reason a COD parcel fails.

We pack the pair, hand it to our delivery partner, and you get a message with a tracking link. When the rider arrives you pay in cash. Delivery inside Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur is NPR 99. Outside the Valley we courier, and the fee depends on where you are.

What you can check at the door

Open the parcel. You are allowed to, and you should. Look at the frame for scratches or a bent arm, check that it is the model you ordered, and check the case and cloth are in there. If the item is wrong or visibly damaged, refuse it and call us. That is what COD is for.

What you cannot really judge in thirty seconds on a doorstep is whether a prescription pair is correctly made. Take it inside, wear it for a while, and come to either showroom if something feels off. We will recheck the power and the fitting height rather than tell you to get used to it.

Prescription orders work slightly differently

A plain sunglass or a zero-power frame ships as soon as it is packed. A pair with your power in it cannot, because the lens has to be cut to numbers we do not have until you send them.

So the order runs: you order, you send a photo of your prescription slip on WhatsApp, we read it and come back to you if anything is missing, then we cut the lenses and ship. The detail that delays more orders than anything else: a lot of hospital and eye camp slips leave out the PD, the distance between your pupils. Without it we cannot centre the lenses. If you change your mind

Unworn frames in their original packaging can be returned within 7 days of delivery. Message us on WhatsApp and we arrange pickup or drop-off. Frames can also be exchanged at any time before the lenses are cut, which is the point where the pair becomes yours specifically.

Frames fitted with your custom prescription lenses cannot be returned, for the same reason a tailored shirt cannot. The lens only fits your eyes and that frame. That is not a Blurkart rule, it is how prescription lenses work everywhere.

When collecting in person is simply better

COD is convenient, but if you can reach Pulchowk in Lalitpur or Boudha in Kathmandu, coming in is better for a first prescription pair. We measure your PD properly, adjust the bridge and temples to your face, and you leave wearing something that fits rather than something that arrived. The eye test is free and takes about ten minutes, and there is no obligation to buy.

For repeat orders, or a sunglass where fit is more forgiving, cash on delivery is the sensible option. Browse sunglasses from NPR 999 or eyeglasses frames, and pay the rider when it lands.

A note on the phone number

More cash on delivery orders fail on an unreachable phone than on anything else. The rider gets one or two attempts, and if nobody picks up the parcel goes back. Give the number you actually answer, not the one on your old documents, and tell us if you will be at an office rather than home during the day. If your address is easier to describe than to write, send a location pin on WhatsApp and the delivery gets a lot simpler.
